For six or seven nights, pair Kabelvåg or Svolvær with Reine or Sørvågen. With only three or four nights, choose one end rather than spending the trip retracing the E10.

Lofoten takes longer than the map suggests.
The E10 threads the islands together, but narrow roads, changing weather, ferries and stops worth making set the real pace. Decide these three things before you divide the days.
Choose the light, not just the month.
June to August brings long days and the busiest roads. September to April can bring northern lights, shorter days and reduced opening. Conditions remain changeable year-round.
